Madison Fire Department Station 50
Dear Business Owner / Manager / Home owner It is the goal of the Madison Fire Department to provide the best and most up-to-date service to the people in our fire district. Therefore, the department is encouraging the use of the Knox Rapid Entry System to provide ease-of-access and to streamline operations. The current system of notifying a building key holder and waiting for entrance keys to arrive causes the department unnecessary and often prolonged delays. In contrast, maintaining keys to commercial buildings has become unmanageable and is causing delays when responding to emergencies. In order to access buildings quickly, minimize forced entry damage and protect firefighters from injury, the Madison Fire Department and several other area fire departments, are encouraging the KNOX-BOX Rapid Entry System. The installation of a high security KNOX-BOX near the entrance of your buildings, gates and/or residence will provide onsite storage of keys, access cards and emergency information. Knox-Boxes are constructed of ¼” solid steel with a ½” steel door and reinforced locking mechanism. In most cases, a residential box is sufficiently sized for up to 10 keys, however a master key to all locks works best. A model 3261-S Residential,Surface Mount,Hinged Door,Black Knox Box is $466.00, significantly less than repairing a damaged entry door of any type. They are UL listed against physical attack and the Medeco security lock is patented and UL listed for drill, pick and pull resistance. The KNOX-BOX is keyed specifically for the Madison Fire Department and would be used in cases of emergency or to ensure safety of the property. The master key will be secured in Madison Fire Department apparatus (fire trucks) allowing limited access. The Knox Company has been providing fire departments with the Knox Rapid Entry System for 30 years. More than 7,500 departments and the communities they serve enjoy the benefits of this proven system.
